Maria Jagla, General Manager Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcel Oostenbrink as the new resort manager at Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh.
Marcel is a second generation Hotelier holding a Bachelor’s degree from the International Hotel School “The Hague” as well as a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Erasmus University of Rotterdam both of which were obtained in the Netherlands.
Marcel’s journey in the world of hospitality started as F&B supervisor in 2002 at the Hilton Airport Hotel in Amsterdam, after which he spent five years working in different Hotels in the Netherlands which offered him a solid experience and allowed him to get several titles and promotions. In October 2007, after having obtained his Master’s degree, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts became his employer for the next 7 years.
He first joined the company in the Maldives as F&B Manager at the Banyan Tree Angsana Velavaru. Then he was promoted at the Banyan Tree in the Republic of Seychelles as Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Assistant Manager from 2009 for two years. In 2011, he was once again promoted but this time as the Resort Manager of the Banyan Tree Resort in Ras Al Khaimah (UAE). For several months during his tenure in Ras Al Khaimah, Marcel was responsible temporarily for the operation of the entire Banyan Tree Langco (Vietnam) that consists of 49 private villas and 239 rooms during the departure of its Area General Manager.
Hence, Marcel is no stranger to the world of Resorts and, funny enough, to Sharm El Sheikh; he made his Management Trainee program in the Hyatt Regency Resort back in 2001.
